
T.H.A.W. Inc is a 501c3 nonprofit organization formed in 2018 by a small group of Pittsburgh women concerned about the health disparities between African American women
and women of other races (or ethnicities). Since its founding, T.H.A.W., Inc. has
implemented programming that has promoted chronic disease education and intervention,
coaching in behavior change and stress reduction, lifestyle and weight loss support, and
increased access to free and low-cost physical fitness activities in the Lincoln-Lemington and
surrounding communities.

& Health Fair

Currently in its 5th official year, the Lincoln Lemington Community Walk & Health Fair (LLCWHF), has been a great way to explore the Lincoln Lemington Community.
Walk With Us!
These annual events are centered around spreading health and wellness to the community. During this event, THAW will showcase it's BYE (Boxing Yoga Exhale) program which has been well received by those in attendance every Monday at 6:30pm. This event starts with a 2.1 mi walk down Paulson Ave starting at Catalyst Academy/Destiny International Ministries. After the walk, Health care vendors Primary Care Health Services Behavior Health, Allegheny County Health Department, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Recovery Power and much more. Each registered participant receives a Free turkey hot dog coupon for Coach Jeff Hot Dog. Roland Ford and Dance and Be Fit will lead line dancing and Dr. Camille Smith will lead cardio boxing segment. Ursula Howard will lead Raja Yoga and Breathwork by our Health Coach Liz Stofko.

There were several local vendors in attendance and participants had an opportunity to be introduced to some new products and services being promoted by those businesses. Past vendors at the event included: Zone 5 Fire Department, Adagio, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Lincoln Lemington Family Health Care Center, Danielle Michelle's Esthetic, as well as Destiny International Ministries Prayer Booth.
